Grama

Women Empowerment

The GRAMA project gave priority to women as the primary beneficiaries, with a focus on providing both direct and indirect employment opportunities. This decision was made based on the understanding that women serve as the backbone of households, and by empowering them, the benefits would extend throughout the entire community. As a result, more women and women’s self-help groups were brought on board to participate in the project.

Community Giveback

At EarthCare, giving back to the community is a fundamental principle. In response to the devastating impact of the second wave of COVID-19 in Kerala, India, we distributed our homemade soaps to affected families in our area.

We provided high-quality leaf tea for around 150 families in need. We are proud to uphold our motto, “Better living- Responsibly,” and strive to continue supporting our community whenever there is a need.

Handloom - A Challenged Industry

Handloom products are celebrated for their unique designs, vibrant colours, and fine texture, all of which are crafted by skilled artisans. In Kerala, weaving was a way of life, and the local rulers invited weaving communities to settle down in various parts of the state. Women contributed with spinning and starching while men did the weaving.

Grama

Book Bank

Grama is committed to improving the living conditions for the entire Poochackal village. Due to Covid-19 and subsequent lockdowns, education has become increasingly difficult for children in the village. Many are unable to attend regular school. To support the children, Grama has launched a new venture: the “Grama Book Bank“. The book bank will provide notebooks and pencils to children, with each child being supported with one notebook and one pencil to start.
